Recommended reading in the Kurier: „Xourage is in greater demand than ever in politics and business in 2021,“ says Harry Gatterer, a trend researcher.
It’s an article that got me thinking and reflecting. Why? The questions I suddenly asked myself were: „Am I active enough and questioning enough to be successful in 2021?“
Here is my summary, which may also provide some food for thought for the new year:
- The article is a call to action. The coming year will be the „year of entrepreneurial action“.
- Entrepreneurial action is not about preserving past successes, by becoming more efficient or rationalising even further. It is about correctly interpreting the signs of the times and deriving opportunities from them.
- 2021, the year of opportunities and possibilities. This requires courage in politics and business. Those who focus on mantaining the status quo are almost certain to make the wrong decisions.
- Rationalisation will be replaced by creativity and technological understanding. New networks and needs will emerge, and environmental issues will become a central issue for society.
- It is time for ecology and economy to end their battle against each other and start working together.
- China has emerged as a winner from the crisis, but will its authoritarian system be able to withstand the challenges of the future? This is a question that cannot yet be answered with any certainty. In any case, the USA is currently experiencing a change of leadership and it remains to be seen what dynamics will develop as a result.
- Develop Austria as a health centre and promote technological progress, and act less petty towards each other politically, because more networking is needed there too.
- A problem child of the crisis – COVID-19 has shown that both teachers and learners struggle to learn independently. If we want to score points with intellectual assets in the future, this should become a compulsory subject for everyone.
My conclusion
This is a very interesting article that gives food for thought and confirms once again that my current work motto seems spot on: „It takes courage to act in order for progress to happen.“
And that makes me feel positive and confident about 2021. An exciting and thrilling year lies ahead of us.
